I’ve been thinking a lot lately about change. Perhaps the hot weather has got to me and I’m over-thinking things, but I do believe change can be good. Taking a leap of faith can be daunting but maybe it’s the best thing you can do for yourself. You can spend a long time thinking about it yet it never feels quite right, but let me tell you why now is the perfect time…

I’ve always been a believer of, “if it doesn’t make you happy, find something that does”. Of course I realise not everyone is lucky enough to be in that position, I’m certaintly not. I live with my boyfriend, have bills to pay and a car to run… not to mention a love for HomeSense and going out for coffee. You don’t need to be drastic, you just need to be smart about your choices.
Life is what you make it, right? Sometimes making one positive change is all you need to steer you in the right direction, and all I needed was a new positive mindset.
I had become tired and fed up of letting negativity get to me, and let’s face it, nobody likes a ‘negative Nancy’. When you have anxiety (read my post here), trivial moments or comments can affect your entire day, but when you know your worth it will make it a lot easier.
It takes courage to let go of the familiar and embrace the new.
I decided I had to take a leap of faith, make a change and do something out of my comfort zone.
Sure, it’s a little scary when you enter the unknown, but the adrenaline you get from doing something because you know it will benefit you in the long run is worth it. It’s not something you will do every day, or every week, but perhaps we should all challenge ourselves and our capabilities more often. I didn’t want to wait any longer to feel happier, so I went out and made it happen. And you can too.
Over the last 18 months my life has changed drastically, in the best way possible too. My confidence has grown tenfold, which I partly have my job to thank for, and my perspective has changed. Perspective is a wonderful thing and when you open yourself up to new life experiences, you’ll be able to apply this knowledge to make better decisions.
Also, trust your gut. Always trust your gut. If something isn’t right, just go for it and take a leap of faith.
I really hope this has inspired or motivated you to make a positive change, no matter how big or small it may be. Create the life you want to wake up to.
When was the last time you took a leap of faith?
