Have you heard about the new bar in town? Located on the corner of the Brewery quarter in Cheltenham lies The Botanist, an award-winning bar and restaurant that is best known for it’s botanical cocktail creations and gorgeous almost jungle-esque interior.

The perfect spot for a date night or after work drinks with friends, let me tell you more…

Location: The Botanist, Brewery Quarter Cheltenham

It started with a seed, an idea to create a secret garden of food and drink. A place where antiquities and trinkets hang from the walls, and resident botanists craft unusual concoctions. Some arrive for the live music, some for the conversation; but here at The Botanist, all can enjoy a wondrous occasion…

Think gorgeous greenery, decadent décor and botanical flavours. This bar is sure to set tongues wagging, mouths watering and stomachs rumbling.

Sipping on prosecco with my pals,  I am seriously impressed by what The Botanist has to offer. The room was buzzing with locals who had also been invited along to celebrate the launch, yet somehow it didn’t feel overcrowded or too loud. Perhaps the potted plants hanging behind the booths near our table made me feel more ‘zen’, or maybe that was just the bubbly.  From the invitation (which included a bottle of Didsbury gin and Fever Tree tonic) to the warm welcome from the team, The Botanist are certainly making their mark already.

The friendly staff members were walking around with tasty offerings from their food menu, which by the way doesn’t disappoint. From small plates to pies to burgers to kebabs, there is sure to be something for everyone.

The platters went down extremely well, with the watermelon and feta kebab sticks serving up as a firm favourite for myself. The mini burgers seemed to go down well with the company I was in too, so I recommend those if you stop by for food.

After catching up with some of my favourite blogging ladies, I took a trip to the beautifully decked out bar to grab some more drinks for the table. Plants are perfectly lined up amongst the many bottles of gin with even some of the cocktails being served up in terracotta pots for added effect.

There will be promise of live music each week too, the perfect tonic to go with all their other offerings!

There is also another corner to discover, with the Rekorderlig bar hidden behind a jungle of vibrant greenery.

They served up their own cocktail to rival Pimms, refreshing and one to take you right through to next Summer. So delicious that I’ve forgotten the name of it, but an excuse for you to pop in and try it for yourself.

It’s all in the detail.

If Thirsty Thursdays weren’t a thing before, they sure are now. It opens until late most nights, until 1am on a Thursday and 2am on a Friday and Saturday.

The Botanist officially opens Monday 3rd December at midday. For further details and how to book a table, please visit their website here.
