It’s the one night of the year where you can literally be anyone you like – whether it be scary or super cute – anything goes on Halloween. It’s also the time to use your freakish design skills and kit out your homes with novelty decorations, and I know just the place that has everything you need…

Thank goodness for HomeSense, saving the day once again. They stock a huge range of ghostly goodies, perfect for however you are spending Halloween. Fancy dress costumes, cobwebbed candles, even glittery skull heads – the basic essentials for bringing a bit of frightfully good fun to your home. Even if you’re not dressing up, there is an extensive range of high quality pieces that you can bring out year on year that will impress your nearest and dearest.

After spending a long, long time trying to decide what to buy on a budget (or should that be, trying to whittle everything down to what bits I actually need) I finally picked out these essentials.

My best friend is hosting a Halloween shindig this weekend so party prep is in full swing and I can’t wait to place these pieces around the house. Aside from some baking that I will display on this gorgeous Italian made Ceramic Pumpkin Plate* (see Thursday’s post), I’m bringing this Halloween Fright Night* sign to hang up and welcome all the ghosts guests that come through the door. The gorgeous Black and Gold Pumpkin* will look perfect above the drinks bar or even as a decorative addition to the DJ booth.

Will you be picking up any decorations from HomeSense?  I would love to know how you’re all celebrating and what Halloween bits you think are essential.
