Valentines Day. The day that all singles dread (and probably some couples too if they’re being honest) is looming.

As I get older I’m becoming more blasé about the whole thing. I enjoy the humour surrounding it all, like this Stylist article which is pure joy to read. Of course, if you are in a relationship then really this post is aimed at you I suppose – or you could show your best friend or a family member just how much they mean to you, it’s a day of love after all!  I popped into HomeSense where all the magic happens, let’s face it, and picked up a couple of bits that would be a great gift for him or her.

They have a variety of sweet treats, like this gorgeous heart-shaped tin of chocolate truffles. Cliché, but it’s a present that can be shared too, and much more special than the normal boxes of chocolate you can buy in a supermarket. If chocolate isn’t their thing, how about something a little more personal.

This photo frame stood out amongst the gift selection for me. A thoughtful gift for her, you could include a photo of you both together for something sentimental, speaking on behalf of many females – this type of thing trumps other materialistic presents.

Buying for him is usually more difficult. I do find Valentines is aimed more towards women, just from what I’ve seen in shops and online. I found this 4 piece set of Bentley glasses in HomeSense, perfect for the man who enjoys his brandy or whiskey perhaps. There were plenty of options to choose from but this one caught my eye, and for the £6.99 price tag you could include a box of chocs with this too!
